Following situation:
We have an Oracle Server (Windows 2003, Oracle 10g) with some Windows XP oracle clients connecting to the database instances on the server via LAN. Normally anything is running fine, no problems ....

For test issues we have to change the date on a oracle client to a dedicated date in the past. If we change the date on the client, each time the error ORA-12638 occurs. If the date is changed back to the actual date anything is working fine.

We also have set up a PC in the Network which is server and client at the same time, but the same error occurs when we change the date to another date than the actual date.

Has anyone an idea, how we can get the possibilty to change the date on the client without getting the error?

Thanks in advance Smile))

Why do you want a PC does not have the actual date?
ORA-12638: Credential retrieval failed
*Cause: The authentication service failed to retrieve the credentials of a
          user.
*Action: Enable tracing to determine the exact error.

It is a special test issue:
We need to change the date, because we run a testrobot on the oracle client. The testrobot compares the results of the actual test run with an previous test run , that has been performed in the past (including some checks based on dates). To avoid time mismatches in the results, we need the possibility to change the date on the oracle client, so that all test runs will be performed at a dedicated date.
