In Windows,how to create a new file with
timestamp attached to filename?

I have never done this on windows but ...

this might give you a hint on how to accomplish this

C:\>echo tempfile_%date:~-0,10%_%time:~-0,10%.txt
tempfile_2007-04-18_15:47:45,1.txt
