Ok...don't laugh or scoff Wink

I found a work around if anyone can't configure their machine to have the rights for logging in as batch user, via the local security policy applet.

My home laptop (XP Home ed.) and my work laptop (XP Pro) need these user permissions. My work laptop was locked down somehow and I couldn't access the applet. My home laptop just doesn't have the applet.

Window Server Resource Kits have this command line utility called ntrights. Log in as local admin and run this from the command line:

ntrights -u myusername +r setBatchLogonRight

The kit is here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/reskit/default.mspx

That's it.
