I just finished a gruelling installation of the OEM on a XP professional machine in combination with Oracle 8i databases on a HPUX machine.

In one word HELL!

It`s onbelievable that Oracle gets away with such a product. You call that an installation procedure?! Installation puzzle is a better word.

I got my help through this forum, many thanks.

Larry Ellison, get your act together! The moment I can switch to MYSQL (which does install properly) I`m gone!!

see http://www.orafaq.com/forum/m/99524/0/?srch=installing+oem#msg_99524

and futhermore starting the Oracle Management Server and Oracle Client Cache service on the XP PC.

Logging on with the OEM console on this XP machine using sysman / oem_temp
