Solaris 9, Oracle 10.1.2

How does one start Intellegent Agent for data gathering? Do I need a database to store the gathered information?

Thanks,
Neil.

emctl start dbconsole

... or when using Grid Control:

emctl start agent

Best regards.

I got it running on my XP Pro box in my office instead of going into the computer room whenever I want to manage Oracle.

I used eXcursion which is an Xterminal program and set ssh as a program to tunnel X11. Then via ssh I set the display xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (export DISPLAY=<ip address>). Then in a ssh window I keyed in 'netscape.'

It told me my web broser was not current (even though we just installed Solaris 9), but it let me continue using my older version of Netscape.

Thanks for your help!
Neil
