Hello,

I installed Oracle8i database and the management server in the same machine for practice. But the management server console can not find the local database. I have tried the Discovery Wizard to find the local node, then database, but it failed to find the node. I have already installed the intelligent agent and started it. Perhaps I should ask in this way: can management server manage the database in the same machine? Can the machine installed the management server be treated as a node? If it does, how can I do it?

i dont have an EMconsole with me right now.
so cant give exact steps( I DONT REMEMBER THEM).
once the discovry fails,
look the panel.
there might be some defualt SID and ports.
change them...and lookaround the for option to edit them...and discover manually.
IT will be somewhere around..

After discovery fails in the EM, you will have the option to
configure the target db manually.
