Hi

By anlyzing a table in the DB, I could see the statitics in the Oracle Enterprise Manager tool, that it got row chaining.....now I am trying to clean it by export/import..but still it shows the same....Is there any method that I could think of....and on what basis, should I change the storage parameters....It is very urgent.....please reply asp.

1. Analyze the table ....list chained rows,
2. Copy the rows to another table,
3. Delete the rows from the original table,
4.insert the rows from step 2 back to original table

Hello Mahesh

I could not understand at the below, I marked it with "??" Could you explain me why I have to do it again?

mag@itloaner1_local > rename test98 to someothername;
Table renamed.

mag@itloaner1_local > rename bak_test98 to test98;
Table renamed.

now import the data into test98; till here is not sufficient?

????then rename test98 to bak_test98;??????
????????rename someothername to test98;?????????

regards,
Ramaujam
