Maybe it can help ;

SQL> create table test2
2 (id clob,
3 address blob);

Table created.

SQL> desc test2
Name Null? Type
-------- -------- --------
ID CLOB
ADDRESS BLOB

SQL> desc test2

Name Null? Type
-------- -------- ----------------------------
ID CLOB
ADDRESS BLOB

SQL> insert into test2(id) values('one');

1 row created.

SQL>

for BLOB you must use new syntax of SQL 8i

Ardian
