Hi,
I am having problems logging on to sql plus..it is aksing me for a username/password and i don't know what these are!!
I have installed oracle8i on s atndalone machine but the software did not prompt me to create a db..can anyone help me please.

Just try to locate "dbassist" and run it. It should be in ORACLE_HOME/bin

You have two schemas:

sys/change_on_install
system/manager

you can connect locally as INTERNAL which is SYS.

Use sys/change_on_install and use dbassist
