Hi,

I get this error when I connect from a 9iDB to a remote 8.1.7 db as sys, I tried this from rman and OEM . From OEM I can only use sys as NORMAL. Vould you tell me what wrong here? By the way, what is the replacement for internal?

hi,
the replacement for Internal in 9i is
connect sys as sysdba.

as far as the error is considered u might have done a mistake while giving the Remote_authentication in init.ora or your password file doesnt contain the entry of the Internal of the remote database.
