How to analyze trace file and alertlog.what and all we can analize by using this files.you give some hints to analize?

the alert.log files containts the infomation of system
parameter of
1.shared global area
2.instance startup/shutdown
3.the background thread status
and the trace file contains
1.session id
2.Window thread id of oracle.exe image
3.process,threads info
